The Dorothy-Jane Duo

Canberra's "Blues force of nature" and ‘Chain’ award vocal finalist, Dorothy-Jane “DJ” Gosper, smokes it up with Australian Blues guitar stalwart, Richard Steele (Whose Muddy Shoes, Anni Piper), master of slide and fingerpicking styles on acoustic and resonator guitars.  Together this duo dishes up a feast of original and traditional bare-bones blues, cooked to perfection!

"Together Gosper and Steele have created a divine, stripped down, back porch Blues album that proves there is still room for simplicity in contemporary music, and that the Blues are alive, well, and in the palm of her hand."

Chloe Kay Richardson, Rhythms Magazine 2016

Blues Harp Women - the CD!

Blues Harp Women album cover, artistic drawing of female playing harmonica

This is a double compilation album curated by Norman Davis, a blues radio presenter from Idaho and released by Ruf Records. The album celebrates female harmonica players, with 31 tracks from players across the world, including 2 Aussies - Dorothy-Jane and Marion Turner.  Norman says “I hope this album will shed some light on what has been a black hole in the blues universe. Perhaps this will help female players get the attention that has passed them by in the past.”

The album can be purchased through itunes, Ruf Records and other online stores.
